1. Life360’s Driver Protect
Life360’s new Driver Protect service can tell you when and where a family member used their cell phone while driving. The service is available through the Life360 app, so it travels with everyone in your family on their smartphone in any vehicle. A driving safety insights report is produced in the app after each drive is completed, allowing you to see the route your loved one took and any instances of cell phone use, hard braking, rapid acceleration and the top speed reached during the drive. Weekly driver report cards help everyone in the family have conversations about how to improve their safety on the road, and monitor improvements in driving behavior. Life360 Driver Protect also offers 24/7 extended roadside assistance and automatic crash detection and emergency response. Using proprietary technology and sensors on the phone, the service can detect if you or a loved one are in a serious car accident. If an accident is detected, Life360 will contact emergency responders and direct them to your exact location.

4. VOXX’s Gentex Full Display Mirror
The Gentex Aftermarket Full Display Mirror, the first hybrid rear-vision system, was designed to enhance driving safety by optimizing the driver’s rear visibility and help eliminate blind spots. It functions as a standard automatic dimming rearview mirror, but with the flip of a lever, a custom high-dynamic-range imager captures video of the vehicle’s rear view and streams it to a unique mirror-integrated LCD display.
This full display mirror features an LCD display with a resolution of 1280×275 that will dramatically improve rear vision with no obstructions from headrests, C&D pillars, passenger, luggage or anything else that may take up space in the backseat. The system provides hybrid, bi-modal functionality with users allowed to toggle between mirror and display modes to accommodate various driving scenarios, weather conditions and driver preferences. Mirror mode operates as a standard mirror detecting headlight glare from trailing vehicles and darkens to the precise level necessary to preserve driver vision. In Display mode, the custom-designed high-dynamic-range imager with pixel-level intelligence provides streaming HD video at 60fps for optimal rear vision. Additionally, the mirror has driver adjustable display: brightness, title and rotate with automatic day/night brightness control and integrates HomeLinkcar-to-home automation, providing three buttons that can be programmed to operate garage doors, security gates, home lighting and more.
